If you use Outlook 2003 you may notice that Microsoft Word 2003 opens up the document in a strange side-by-side view. To find out how to change it to a normal view, read on!

First off, you need to make sure that you are using Outlook 2003 and Word 2003. If you are, open up Word 2003 and click on the Tools menu along the top of your screen.

Next, select the Options menu and then click on the General tab.

You will find a checkbox that says "Allow Starting in Reading Layout". Uncheck that box and close Word 2003. The next time you open up an attachment, the document will open up in the Normal view.
